News of the World - Single (2021)

Rising of the Sun, Falling of the Sky (2024)

(Potter, De Coppi, Young)

News of the World is a metal track written in June/July 2021. It is about the way the media controls the mind, and in today's society, no one is free from the influence of the media. 'News of the World' has been played live twice by Feedback.

THE WAY IT WAS BEFORE

Triptych (2021)

Rising of the Sun, Falling of the Sky (2024)

(Potter, Young, Knox, Noonan)

'The Way It Was Before' tells the story of a war-torn soldier suffering the effects of the war on his mind. It talks about how his actions in the war have a severe mental toll and how there is now no one there for him. It was written to show how Feedback's musicality extends beyond the realms of power chords and blues riffs ergo the cello - played by Zavier Noonan - in the intro and outro of the song. 'The Way It Was Before' has been played live twice by Feedback.

12 VOLT WORLD

Triptych (2021)

(Phillips, Potter)

'12 Volt World' is a slow blues style song about a '12 Volt' man who can't find love until he meets the '12 Volt Girl' at '12 Volt World'. '12 Volt World' has been played live once by Feedback.

BAD HAIRCUT

Triptych (2021)

Rising of the Sun, Falling of the Sky (2024)

(De Coppi, Potter)

'Bad Haircut' is the closing track on 'Triptych'. Heavily inspired by 'The Chats', 'Bad Haircut' is about a bloke who goes into a loud, crowded barber and gets a terrible haircut. The opening riff to 'Haircut' was written accidentally by Elijah De Coppi, when he fumbled playing the opening riff to Pearl Jam's 'Jeremy'. 'Bad Haircut' has been played live three times by Feedback.

PEDAL TO THE METAL

Pedal to the Metal - Single (2023)

Rising of the Sun, Falling of the Sky (2024)

(Potter)

'Pedal to the Metal' is about a man who is speeding up the road, running out of gas at lightning speed. While trying to get to the servo, the police arrest him, and he makes a daring escape. The song was written, lyrics and all, in 10 minutes by singer-guitarist Darcy Potter, and is the first single off their debut album, 'Rising of the Sun, Falling of the Sky'.

NO ESCAPE

No Escape - Single (2023)

Rising of the Sun, Falling of the Sky (2024)

(Potter)

'No Escape' has been in the works since October 2021. The idea came to singer/guitarist Darcy in the middle of the night while out camping. The song is about feeling trapped, emotionally and physically, as if an outside entity is constantly pursuing the narrator. The lyrics leave a lot up to the listener to interpret. Using guitar scales frequently featured in Egyptian and Middle-Eastern music, 'No Escape' is more of an experimental metal track, while still keeping a classic anthemic chorus, chilling lyrics and chugging riffs.

SOLEM ET LUNAM

Rising of the Sun, Falling of the Sky (2024)

(Potter, De Coppi)

'Solem et Lunam' translates to 'The Sun and The Moon' in Latin. The song is a short instrumental track, showcasing the musical abilities of all band members in guitar harmonies, speed metal riffing and keyboard solos. The song features elements of artists such as Metallica and Dio as well as Deep Purple and The Doors.

WRATH OF THE UNIVERSE

Rising of the Sun, Falling of the Sky (2024)

(Potter, De Coppi, Granger, Noonan, Young)

'Wrath of the Universe' is the longest track on 'Rising of the Sun, Falling of the Sky'. Its duration is over 7 minutes, and is the song the band spent the most time writing and recording. Full of trash metal riffing, guitar harmonies, evil lyrics as well as a clean guitar section through the middle, 'Wrath' is the band's best accomplishment in songwriting (according to them). The start of the song was debuted live in 2022, but the full version was never released until the album came out. 'Wrath of the Universe' is all about the inevitability of death, and how everything that lives will someday die. 'Wrath of the Universe' has been played live twice by Feedback.

THOSE WERE THE DAYS

Rising of the Sun, Falling of the Sky (2024)

(Potter, Maiolo, Noonan)

A proper metal ballad, 'Those Were the Days' is about life going on, and how change is an inevitable thing that everyone will experience at some point in their lives. Citing the musical styles of Lynyrd Skynyrd and Rainbow, as well as Pink Floyd, the song has a unique style and is a strong point on the album. It is also the only song on the album to feature acoustic guitar.
